When you bring hundreds of classics, sports and exotic super cars together with vintage warplanes, you create quite simply one of the most spectacular events of the year.
The event was the sixth annual event held at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby (an amazing place all year round in it’s own right and a place everyone must visit at some point!) and over 300 spectacular cars gathered to make a memorable day in 27 degrees of sunshine with the bluest of skies.
For those of you that are unaware, Props & Pistons is organised by Bush Tyres in conjunction with their partner ZR Tyres in support of Bloodwise (funding research into leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other types of blood cancer).
It’s the perfect balance of stunning automotive and aviation mechanical art, whilst raising money for a great cause.
If you didn’t make it this year, do pencil it in for next year as the show is simply incredible with plenty to see and do for all the family.
Unlike any other car show, Props & Pistons is unique due to its wonderful surroundings. A Lancaster Bomber, Dakota and the more recent addition of the Mosquito are on the ground there at all times, plus this year saw fly overs from Hanger 11’s Spitfire and the Bristol Blenheim. Simply superb!
