With just 524 right-hand-drive examples of the M635 CSi built and powered by the M88 straight-six originally used in the M1 Supercar, this manual, 48,731 mile example shall certainly speak out to a number of enthusiasts and collectors alike.
First registered in September 1987 by the BMW main dealer Cheyne Motors LTD as a demonstrator, there are four previous registered keepers on the log book. The first registered private keeper of the car was a Mr Reeve who took delivery of the car in January 1988, until October 1989 when a Mr Redstone then became the custodian of the car.
The car remained with Mr Redstone for 11 years until August 2010 before the car was sold back to Mr Reeve, who we can only assume he must have kept in touch and had a gentleman’s agreement with. However, within 3 months the car was bought and sold by 4 Star Classics to it’s final owner, where the car has resided in his personal collection for the last 10 years and carried out less than 1,000 miles in this time period.
Finished in Royal Blue metallic with Pearl Beige leather interior, the M635 CSi presents itself in good order throughout. There are no rips or tears to any of the leather and barely any visible signs of wear to any of the switch gear.
The bodywork too is very honest with only the odd blemish and stone chip present as one would expect, but there are certainly no major damaged paint, panels or parking dents. The front splitter is in original condition with no signs of any cracks, damage or previous repairs.
Mechanically the car is exceptionally good and as a result drives superbly. The M88 engine pulls strongly without any hesitation and the steering is direct and precise, whilst the gear changes from the five speed manual gearbox performing smoothly. Inside the car you will find all instrument clusters, switches and electrics in perfect working order, with the air conditioning and electric sunroof both working as they should do.
The M635 CSi sits on it’s original 15″ metric alloy wheels which have no grazes or blemishes to them and are still wearing the correct Michelin 240/45/15 TRX tyres.
Having covered less than 1,500 miles a year on average from new, this unabused example has all of the original bookpacks, the all important service booklet, a stack of MOT’s dating back to 1992 and a colossal amount of supporting invoices to confirm the M635 CSi’s history and any other non-service work carried out on the car in the last 33 years. .
The last service was done on the 8th August 2019 by Soper of Lincoln BMW, where a standard oil service was undertaken and since then, the M635 CSi has covered less than 100 dry miles.
